One thing that I think makes playlists enjoyable with Spotify is that anyone can make one and share it with others so that they can play the same songs in their app. Like most apps with free music, Spotify lets you add your favorite songs to your music library and play those songs again later. It lets you find music by viewing top lists and new releases, as well as by searching for playlists and your favorite artists and albums. This is my go-to music app when I want to find music similar to the stuff I know I already like.

You might want to try logging out of your son's account in the app and anywhere it is showing up in your device settings.
The bug might be that you essentially have 2 google accounts on your device or the stream got stuck or locked onto your son's account. When streaming with a single user subsciption, it will stop playing or not allow playback from another device with the same login. You don't have a family subscription for Youtube Music, but since the subscription is tied to your own account on your device it somehow still plays music in the app even though you are signed into the app under your son's account.
This may also create a secondary sign-in on your device/chrome/etc. There is a separate login within the youtube music app that you've logged into from your son's account. Since Youtube Music is sort of like a default system based app, the subscription might automatically associate or tie with your google account on your phone. You are using an Android device logged in to the system with your Google Account credentials.
It may be a bug in relation to using your subscription on 2 different accounts on the same device and youtube music is getting confused.
